Designer
Launched in 2008, the Jinyana label is the culmination of determination, vision and unwavering passion for designer Coral Wilkinson. Jinyana, an adaptation of Coral’s Armenian great-grandmother’s surname, Nanadjanian, represents a highly personalised connection to the past, in both family ties and in the sourcing of the unique components comprising Jinyana jewellery.
Genuine vintage components from the 1940s-1970s are used extensively within the collections. Each re-purposed piece is sourced from small, independent suppliers, each of whom share Coral’s design philosophy and ethic and are regarded as integral to the foundation of the Jinyana label.
Having been born and raised in Tropical North Queensland and currently designing from a studio surrounded by the vibrant colours of the rainforest, Coral recognised a gap in the markets of mass production and sought to offer Australian designed jewellery incorporating unique components sourced from unusual and unexpected avenues, such as collectors and retired costume designers from around the globe.
Distinctive, eclectic and fabulously flamboyant in design, Jinyana has gained recognition for the label’s uncompromising dramatic style and attention to detailed workmanship.
